Dice (Silverline Pro) or Intravee II?

I have read many of the discussions on this and other forums, however before I make the call I'd appreicate any feedback regarding my paticular configuration and the most recent revisions of the options.

Z4M, no Nav, business CD and Cd Changer - Bluetooth Prep.

Orignally it seemed after reading the various reviews that the Intravee II with the Alpine KCA-420i was the way to go, albeit alittle more expensive. However having read recently that this will not charge the latest generation of iPods/iPhones, I am mindful to discount this method.

The Dice Silverline Pro for ~£100 seems to charge the 12/5V Apple devices, and give the functionality of the Alpine set-up, (including track text on the Header) . I understand that the Silverline Pro is more reliable that the older Dice systems, which by all accounts were flaky at best.

Any recent experience of these two systems would be appreciated. Maybe there is another "solution" that I have not considered, or that will be availble in the near future?

TIA

if you have nav then imo nothing beats the intravee.

You can get adapters for like £10 which allow newer ipods to be powered from the old firewire charging... so the issue of not charging newer ipods is not an issue (just another cost to factor in)

From my experience, I'd say since you have no nav, then save your money and get a used ice link plus, they're very cheap now. they also work very well given their simplicity.

You'll only need 1 line of text on the standard HU, pay an additional £6 get the adaptor to allow for charging.

Yes, the no nav (big mistake :D ) is the deal breaker. Intravee works ok, but you lose 99% of its beauty.

As said above, in my pre-satnav 3.0 I had the icelink plus, worked great.

I'm pretty sure I have seen an adaptor that will facilitate charging. Let me know if you want me to find it, but maybe you've discounted the Intravee anyway after PVR rightly points out that it would be nowhere near as good without the nav screen.

i use the Dice silverline pro. Bog basic to set up and very easy to do, my only grip with mine is that i cant get it to shuffle. so just set up a random playlist. Charges my ipod and the other halfs iphone, although if you leave it plugged in when parked up it does run down over time. Also has an aux in plug :driving:

Thanks for the feedback. It would seem that the Dice Silverline Pro has now being replaced by the Dice DUO. £120 seems reasonable, it charges the latest generations of iPods and has pretty good reviews so far.

I might give it a go!
