Diamond cut wheels

Found a set of diamond cut alloys for my F31. They’re genuine OEMs, not reps I’m led to believe and faces have been refinished using proper machining process. I’ve also been told they’ve not had any welds but reckon if the main part of the wheels have been powder coated I’ll never know for sure. Any advice on buying used rims? They’re from a wheel refurb company who seem to get half decent reviews... also can they safely be stored outside unprotected ? Thoughts welcomed!

Might well, be a good idea to please add, some images of the wheels your looking at..

Ideally, some interior images of the wheel markings, will help decipher if they are indeed OEM's or, lesser quality copies? :telloff:

That way, people can see - what, your looking at and make appropriate comments, regards the already completed refurbishments, also..

Cheers and the best of luck

I'll get some images of the inside with any manufacturing marks. Interested if any advice can be given re hidden welds etc

Nice enough set of wheels, a Z E85 was posted up recently with a, set of these on & it looked pretty good 8)
A machine faced refurb isn't cheap, I doubt they would have made it that far of one or more were damaged or buckled.
As for outdoor storage ?
Wheels are generally outdoors in everyday use so can't see any difference storing them outdoors to having them on the car :? That said they are lacquered polished faces so be prepared for them to require further upkeep in the future that wouldn't be required with powdercoated or painted wheels.

Thanks for.your.thoughts.

These will be the 'Summer set' : the winter set being the identical ones my wife has just.kerbed😭

People using winter/summer tyres.these.days or is that all hype and just run all season bad boys?

As pretty as machined alloys look I personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I've never seen a set by any manufacturer that doesn't start to corrode sooner or later. As Mr.Wilks says it is just a thin coat of clear lacquer over the bare metal and it only takes one small stone chip or scratch and it is then only a matter of time before the dreaded 'White Worm' sets in and ruins them :(

I have on my 3 Series daily for the last 4 years, but that's because the 1st came on just winters and my current one came with a set of both winters and summers. But if I was starting from scratch I'd probably just fit something like Michelin Cross Climates and leave them on all year.

When the weather gets that bad my Z4 stays safely at home!

Will be labelled both. Had the same on a set of mini alloys... they just change the colour and then different part number. But base wheel stays the same.

I guess you can say the same for most stuff on a car? Z4 bonnet for example... physically the same but just spray it different?
