Diagnostic tool. BMW scanner 1.4. Review

I hooked up my BWM Scanner today and it works great! Did some coding for the lights etc., cleared errors. One thing that does not work for me is SRS live coding data and coding. Buttons are simply missing. Ignition is on I can enter SRS and read and clear errors but that's it. Running 1.4.0.7 same as shown in the initial post. Any idea why?
 
BMW Scanner 1.4 will read airbag codes and clear them if the fault is no longer current otherwise if the fault remains it will keep the airbag light on. To code airbag modules with the cars Vin number and to start the system time it has to be done with BMW NCS Expert and WinKPF software that is part of the BMW INPA set of software.
 
Fwiw, I was able to code the VIN to my e86 (so a facelift with the more simple srs setup) using BMW Scanner (and didn't need the BMW tools).

I don't doubt that you need BMW tools for prefacelift though.
 
Guys this is not what I've asked. I don't have the following option available in SRS:

Are you able to do this?. Although I have the software, I don't possess the knowledge or confidence to do it without clear concise instruction.

It's not for me. I may be referring someone to you that's sailsbury\derby based. I will also be referring them to @enuff_zed so they have the choice around any commitments they may have.
I have the rare module they may require coding.
