DI vessel water softener.

Just bought myself a Di vessel and resin to help clean my car.
Supposedly this removes the limescale from the water and reduces the chance of water marks on the car.
Just need to wait for the rain to stop so I can wash the car

Anyone else used these before?

Yeah, it’s a must have if you live in the south and have a dark coloured car...makes a massive difference. A good purchase

Really curious about these and want to try it, but I am a bit confused as to how many litres of what you get per use.

For an example I am looking at an 11L vessel, so roughly how many litres of water will it purify before I need to replace the resin?

So, with these it’s best used for the rinsing part of the clean. So do your wheels and pre clean with normal water, then add the DI and do a rinse. Then you can shampoo the car without chasing water spots. When you’ve finished that, then rinse with the the DI water. This should keep you water spot free and an 11L will last a good 50 washes. You’ll know when you need to change the resin when the car starts to water spot.

So do you just use it with the hose attachment from rinsing or put it inline to your pressure washer for rinsing ?

I’d put it inline and use your pressure washer, you need to get rid of any soap from washing, so 5 minutes rinsing with this will ‘almost’ mean you don’t need to dry the car (you still kind of need to though).

I’ve put hose pipe attachments on mine.
I was planning to use it for the wash and rinse.

I’ll log the times I use it just to track how long it lasts.
Mine is only a 5 litre vessel. I also got a TDS tester to monitor the hardness of the water. Currently mine reads 260ppm for the tap water, and 6ppm for the vessel.

I use mine for both washing and rinsing. Having two black cars it makes life so much easier.
