Detango the headlights of an '05 E85 with xenons?

Have searched the forum and it seems the go to for detango-ing the headlights is to replace them with the 2xcite angel eyes BUT they aren't suitable for cars with the xenons :(

Are there any alternatives out there for xenons? Or is it possible to fit those to a xenon stardard car anyway somehow (and would that pass an MOT?)

You are correct regarding the angel eyes.

The easiest solution is to replace them with facelift xenons which are clear. They are rare and crop up infrequently.
 
Your best bet is a cut and shut.

I dremmeled mine open, de-gingered the hockey sticks (replaicing them with clear light diffuser panels cut and shaped to fit) and inserted LED Angel eyes. THen re-sealed them with silicion adhesive to avoid the misting up that can occur. Pleased with the outcome.

Even that isn't a straight swap as the facelift are bi-xenon. In the old days they used to cut and shut them to detango.

Anyone know if anyone has tried any imported lights? Found these on fleabay from the US

I know they're not completely detango'd but they still look much better than the stock lights. Would have to read up about MOT requirements though...
 
Not xenon.

They're the standard sonar / 2xcite models, available here too. Halogen only... Defo not xenon unless they've been modded. I'm not a fan for aftermarket, quality just isn't there IMO.

Stick with the originals, or pay a specialist to do the cut and shut for you. A short term solution could be to tint the lower half, or add they flyeye stuff. Again not to my taste, but could help you with the visual aspect!
