I don't think the internet function has been removed, you just have to pay a subscription for it.

Some BMW cars can use the internet through customer mobile function. This is only a feature in certain countries with poor mobile network coverage. In the UK we are restricted to using the built-in 3G SIM that comes with the car at a cost of £120 per year.

It's completely useless in my opinion. I had it for a year and used it twice while waiting in the car. Kind of like the DVD player function!
I am sure that I read something recently that it has been stopped. It still shows on BMWs websites and is advertised as a service but is no longer available. Sure I read also it was a 2G card inside the car and internet service was poor.

It could be a 2G SIM. It was slow but seemed to load images from Picasa faster than I would have thought 2G capable of.

The internet service itself is not something that BMW could just stop. The data comes from multiple sources via the web and not BMW directly. They could theoretically disable the SIM cards in cars but I've had courtesy cars recently with working internet functions. And the "Internet via Customer Mobile" option is available on newer BMW cars which skirts the need for a SIM card.

The weather forecast app was the only useful thing I could find. Just to see if rain was predicted any time soon when driving with the top down in cloudy weather.

The car has adaptive headlights , are these LED and will they stay on as normal driving lights like newer BMWs? Also it has internet function , is this something you pay for or does it do it through my phone?

Thanks

Adaptive headlight move with the speed of the car, plus of course as you steer.

Heres what I read about it before
"So on further discussion with BMW customer srvices, it seems that the internet option was discontinued in July 2016. However, its not publicised anywhere, and they are continuing to sell the service even though they clearly don't provide it. They blame their "marketing team" for this apparent failure to remove the option from sale.

I have been promised a refund as the internet option was the only difference between Connected Drive Services and Connected Drive Services Plus - added to the whole chaos, apparently the Connected Drive servers are out of order, expected to be back up and running tomorrow, so have been unable to get any of it working so far.

So bye bye Internet as part of Comnnected Drive, but by all accounts the 2g connection wasn't particularly useful any longer, so no great loss."

So does anyone know this car from previous posts or anyone know previous owners? Been trying to search the forum for any info on the car but can't find anything .

Cheers
