After what had been months of months of searching and waiting, I finally appear to have a z4 that I can call mine.
Within the last week I have given BMW a grand deposit on what appeared to be a my perfect 20i with nav and full comfort pack....only to have it refunded 45 minutes later as they had sold the car the previous evening and my sales exec didn't know!
Downhearted I found a second 20i with full works, pro loudspeaker, comfort goodies, nav etc not in my first choice colour (blue with the very marmite Cohiba brown!) but it looked surprisingly good and only 28k miles.Deposit down.
Last minute jitters this weekend followed. All of a sudden the brown leather interior was making me very nervous ! Something in the heart doesn't feel right. Queue fate....
In my hometown of Newcastle a 'coming soon' entry from BMW themselves...a silver grey 23i M sport with Nav! A rarity on the used market recently it seems! What a dilemma...my heart can't turn down a mint inline 6 (19k on the clock)..stuff the mpg. I don't want red seats, ideally but stuff it I can live with that.. the nav is the important thing after the engine and the sound ofcourse. Deposit down. Collect Friday
Something should just feel right when buying a car. It didn't for me, but now I'm super excited...sometimes the heart has to rule the head.
I no longer feel an intruder to the Zed gang. Let the fun begin.
NB. If anyone would like a great spec 20i in deep sea blue and is a fan of cohiba brown leather it will be becoming available again
