Just been to the supermarket its a lovely day so i thought id take the zed parked it miles away from any other car on the car park, (it took me longer to walk from my car to the shop than it did to drive there) went in got what i needed went for a quick blast. I called to see my mum parked outside her house, whilst in there i was gazing out the window looking at my gleaming zed to see a 1" dent in the passenger door, i was fuming thing is there was nothing parked by me when i got to my car at the carpark and it wasnt there before. Im 100% certain of this this is the first time ive legt it on a carpark for months. Problem is how do i get this dent out now cus im proper F******g angry!!

Find a dent specialist - they're very good and can work magic assuming the paintwork wasn't broken. 4 days into my ownership someone drove into the side and put a whacking great dent through the crease of the Z that goes through the indicator. Couple of guys wouldn't even try and get it out but I found a guy who would and he did a great job considering. Result when you consider the £800 quote for a new panel.

Agree with James they can work wonders had a ding left on the front wing of my last car right on the suage line £40 later was gone :D

I just had three very small dents removed today by a dent specialist for $50.00. Apparently, he theorized, someone leaned with their hand above the front wheel well. I was at a car show last summer so it probably happened there. He's says BWM and Mercedes are notoriously "thin-skinned" and even closing the trunk may leave an impression of your hand....

He's independent but does dealer work on new and customer cars. He's say's the dealers charge triple of what he charges!!! He's done successful work on other family cars of mine. I highly recommend a dent specialist near you.

I'm sure a decent specialist will sort that for you....as long as the paint isn't broken it should be a cheap fix!

Off topic but a Z4 wing is closer to £250 plus labour and paint. $237 in the US...

The quote was painted and fitted and included new badges and indicator. Wouldn't be surprised if the quote was on the high side given where I took it but it was the quote I was given at the time, thats all I'm saying.

If the paint isn't damaged take it from me, don't go with a respray. It's far better to use a PDR specialist. The dent will be completely gone and you keep your original paint. All for a fraction of the cost. A good PDR guy will charge around £70 plus vat (possibly less for cash  )

if there is some very minor paint damage (i.e. 5mm X 5mm at most), can you still get the paintless repair, and just put up with a tiny spot of paint damage? Or would the replair make any paint damage worse?

Depends. If the paint was already starting to flake, then yes. If it's just a small chip/scratch, then no.

True, I just had one done for £45, ten mins, no hassle, you'd never tell.

There are 2 things to bear in mind with PDR work, access - being able to locate the rods behind the damaged area and reflection - to enable the panel to be manipulated back to its original shape. If there's any paintwork damage it could result in a loss or distortion to the reflection and affect the final result.
