Happy New Year...

What model of Dension can i put in my Z4? (2005 alpina Lux)

Only need to steam music from a USB stick?

Also will i get the track names up on Sat Nav Screen?

Anyone know

Thanks..how do I know if I have business or professional navigation?

I have the lux pack..but crap speakers..
 
Does your Nav flip up from the dash? If so, it's the Pro version.

Business is integrated into the head unit.

I am deciding on the Dension 300 with the same head-unit. Please let us know how it works out. Cause I don't know if this is a Becker unit I am also considering XCarLinks new gadget:

But I've heard Z4's don't have CD-Text enabled by default. So how would you enable it? I know with Dension you make a SW upgrade which enables car's CD-Text. But I don't know how would you do it with XCarLink.
 
The Dension is only £109 - personally i would get this over a Xcarlink..

I have tried there AVR with my Dension 500 - did not work well..

have the Dension 500 in my e60 - its good as i have 160GB of music on there...most anoying thing is it looses track of folders when you switch the car off... annoying as i have sorted my muisc using folders \ albums

Also considering a Intravee...Still reading up on it though - have not used one for many years.. its meant to be better - only problem is it uses ipods and i dont like ipods and dont have any playlists..

CD text - will the cd player play mp3 cd's? as this is how i tested my e60 - mine did, if it did not i had to get this coded @ £60..

If made after September 2005, or it's been upgraded, yes.

You might find Aquazi has a spare Alpine Unit if you PM him.

Only issue is some iPods fall asleep after use and won't switch back on. I modded my Alpine unit to rectify this issue. I have details if you want them.

eBay used or new you are looking at £200 all in. Seems to be the going rate.

Try m3cutters.co.uk if you're happy with used.
 
Picked up the car yesterday...seems it has a Intravee already..not sure how old though...maybe 4+..CD changers been removed..

Also Richard said you don't need txt enabled on the head unit..for the Intravee..this is only needed if you will be using mp3 cd's
