Dension Gateway 300?

I'm looking to install my iphone 5 via aux... I've searched and it seems that the dension gateway 300 is a good option?

My question is..are they bmw specific or does any model (Audi vw etc) work?

the unit isnt bmw specific however the wiring loom very definitely is

ok, as I thought. Os the loom freely available to buy or would I be better off just buying both together new (rather than a second hand unit)

Would this be the best way to intergrate iPhone 5 to a business cd with dsp but no satnav (with changer that's never used)?

Audio is new to me and a search has confused me!! Intravee, mediabridge, dice..) :|

I have gateway 300- fine with my iPhone 4 but not tried with 5- gives you song text display and simple search through iPod menus.
