Defective bulb warning light

Hi guys,

The above light keeps coming on every time I start the car but disappears after about ten minutes. During that time the indicators would blink very fast when used but then regulate itself.
I've checked all the lights and everything is working fine.
Any thoughts before I take it over to the Indy?

Thanks, folks

Link here might help, mentions defective light module on page 2 http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9974

Cheers for the link, Swiftly. I also thought about the light module but curious as to why it come on intermittently and not simply stay lit.

Mine recently did the same thing.

Except I knew which bulb was defective, as eventually after the dash light being intermittent on start up as yours is, it stayed solid. Even when the dash light was showing intermittently, I would check all bulbs and they would all be fine!

One of the side light bulbs was the culprit, the bulb was fine but when it had been fitted into the holder it had pushed half of the female connector back so that the bulb was only just touching it when installed. Had been fine for 6 months or so before that. I had to push the wire back in carefully with pliers and hold the connector in place while i sat the bulb in tight.

The fact your indicators have been flashing rapidly could maybe suggest the same has happened to you but with an indicator bulb instead of sidelight.

When its the sidelight gone, your indicator on that side remains solid orange.

Some do though ;) what I mean by it is one bulb may be on it's way out but not quite dead, the car usually picks this up.
