Decent price?

Looking at getting into a 2.5si 2006.
Priced at £5,995

- oil service @ 15k
- inspection 1 @ 29k
- oil service @ 50k
- water pump replaced at 68k
- inspection 2 @ 78k

Not exactly a great history? But seems mechanically sound. Black with fabric roof. Seem like a good deal?

Wouldnt say its a great deal privately, sold my fully loaded and well maintained 3.0si on 92k a few months ago for 5.5k..that was a good deal, I think you can do better for 6k, sounds more like a 5k car to me this time of year

Doesn't sound like much of a bargain unless it is in very good condition. Also greatly depends on what options it has.
Also sounds like it's only had 4 oil changes in 14 years!
Well maintained Zeds in good condition can be had for much less than 6k.

I have just looked at a 3.0Si 2006 for 4k and while I feel I should snap it up my heart says no! I have had the misery of a B.M.Troubleyou in the past, namely a 318 4 pot touring and though I could not find anything wrong apart from a noisy tappet that cleared as the engine warmed with the Zed (wifes MX5 does the same) something told me to steer clear. Does the collective on here think I should sell my Z4 2.2 :?

I bought my 2.5si 2007 model four and a half years ago. It had 32K miles on the clock when I bought it, now has about 74K.
It's a great car but the only ongoing issue I have with it is an engine sump which is rusting around the oil level sensor port - they are made out of pressed steel. It seems to me that not many Zeds suffer from this problem but mine does. The "Add 1 Ltre oil" message is now flashing up every 40 days or so now compared with about 80 days a year ago. They are about £500 a shot to buy new and rare as hen's teeth to find on ebay / breakers etc.
Believe me, I'm still trying.
Other than that I think it's a great car.

Yeah I've seen this one listed and ill let you know that I picked up my 2006 2.5si in August at 100k miles with better service history than that for 3k theres nothing wrong with her but the guy was pretty loaded and wanted to get rid of her and I didn't think he knew there were only 89 left so I got very lucky with that.
