Dealing with Boy Racers

You need upwards of 4k rpm in these things to keep pace with a modern TDI and that probably sounds quite aggressive from the outside. I've had the odd reaction from a sexually frustrated accountant in a 320d and I suspect this is why. Not that there's anything wrong with accountants or 320ds, of course. 
No agro so far (in 3 years) from "boy racers" though. Either that or I'm too dumb to notice.

it depends what car im in.
the z its usually newer stuff and the obvious a3/golf/ricer brigade. the westy seems to attract the daftest boy racers. these usually come in the form of blokes in s**t zarfiras and other family wagons, often with a kid glued to the window. only thing i can think of it they are trying to score back somepoints with their kids. never really get to see what they looklike as they are mostly behind me.

Car comes speeding up behind me, given the closing speed well over 100mph, flashes his lights at me to pull in. I ignored them, as there were still dozens of cars infront of me.
A minute later, flashes lights again at me. I lightly tapped my brake to illuminate my lights, whilst using a finger to provide some feedback only for them to illuminate the lights on their unmarked car.
Still yet to understand how they are able to drive at that speed without lights on for an emergency, but am so glad I didn't do what was going through my head

Have to say I have noticed nearly everyone in anything vaguely quick (or frequently less than quick) seems to want a race when I drive my Z4.
I've not had that happen since I had a Capri 2.8 Injection 25 years ago!
On my way to work it is most entertaining when they try to attach their Scenic/Zafira/Discovery/similar POS to my back bumper just as the NSL dual carriageway starts to curve...........

I have read quite a few saying they do a brake check if someone behind them is annoying them and personally apart from the fact you would get done for being caught doing it it is also extremely dangerous and shouldnt be done.
If the person behind you is annoying you by going faster, sitting on your tail or flashing, just move out of their way and let them past.

Even today in fact. I had a cosa behind me, 90's style, looking pretty tatty. Black car with sky blue front panels. Driving past a school and a 30, I was taking it very easy. Just pootleing along with and he was right up my ass. Accelerating up behind me quickly. With these types of drivers I enjoy it when the NSL comes along. After this 30, the road goes NSL. He soon disappeared from view , never to be seen again.
I think most boy racers drive like di*ks in built up areas but as soon as you "highlight" It's not worth it, they soon leave you alone.
