Yes the lights are much better with the new bulbs...not LED bright but def more white....and def get a stubby, makes it look really good. How you doing with stone chips to the bonnet?
Yes - forgot to mention just how good the 35i sounded... 8)
Sat in a Cayman yesterday. Didn't need to even drive it to know that it's not me. I guess i'm 'a bit BMW at heart (last 10 cars, 5 of them Zeds) so I didn't like the interior 'language' and architecture if you know what I mean.
Time therefore to try a 35si to compare with the 35i me thinks!
Thanks for the advice re reliability/service intervals!
You won't regret it mate...which colour would you go for? We all have our favourites....but if you're in sunny climes, nothing beats an Alpine White.....
i'm shortlisting silver or grey with red interior. Might do black interior at a push.
I like the alpine white, but it's already caused 'a domestic' with Mrs Zed Five. - she thinks it'll attract enough unwanted attention anyway. :x
Strangely enough I saw a silver one in Brisbane a few weeks back and did not like it. However, with the new Z4 the wheel style is pretty important I think. There is one style (very 'spokey') which visually 'overloads' a silver car yet looks great on the dark blue.
As i'm planning on a sport model, most have 5-spoke sport wheels that look good. 8)
Not long to wait now, just enjoying the 'research' at present I've downloaded the owners manual so that I can familiarise myself. (I need a hobby I think! ).
I know one guy on here has a silver one, and not disrespecting his car, but I would say silver is the last colour you should look at....def go for the space grey with red or design interior, or even black.......but silver....no no no...
I understand what you mean re silver. However, my mind was changed when I saw the M sport model. The new front bumper and the black rear 'pseudo-diffuser' completely changed the look.
Conversely, black Sport models don't look so good. - odd eh?
Agreed on Grey though. I had a 'Silver Grey' 3.0si with red interior a while ago. It was a great combo (with piano black dashboard).
Well, black is a good colour of some cars - but its well known that blach hides the contours and can also make a car look smaller..ok some of you might think this is tosh, but it's very true...a lighter colour will detail the curves better and elongate the size....
Space grey would be my next choice after white.....
Excuse me, what's with the bang bang? Plagiarism! I claim copyright on the use of bang bang as in my recommendation to iwatchlive when he was thinking of getting one.
I know some manual users sniff at the very mention of auto, but even with mine (non DCT) I get the bang bang effect when using the shift or paddles with sport or sport+ It is almost like the car is saying "C'mon driver, f*** me harder" (or was that in a dream?) Anyways.............
Would I buy another? certainly!.............but this baby ain't going nowhere....it's a keeper, so no need. Even my wife likes it and she NEVER comments on cars.
I agree it is more of a GT than a sports car. But then I have never pushed it to the limit (Nickm is more expert on that I believe  ) When I come off the ramp onto the A12 to go to work, I can easy beat the traffic already on the road and ping into the outside lane. The engine rasp is gorgeous (listen to the exhaust from outside the car in my vid http://s928.photobucket.com/albums/ad127/bimmerz4/Red%20Rooster/
I would however try the 30l just to see if there is enough of a difference to justify outlay.

I confirm this If I recall correctly the term used was firstly

Paddle shifters, although counter intuitive are great. Got the hang of them and gear changes are simply thud, thud, thud, like a bloody Bofors gun...no messing or shilly shallying You want a gear? you got it...bang....'ave it! next, come on driver keep up, wake up and smell the coffee.
Now that man (Petach) has a way with language only learned from years of experience of receiving words and delivering them in return under extreme circumstances  RESPECT
Cayman s is good drive, but, it definitely isn't anything near as "tidy" as the z4.
Baby Porsche is a great raw drive, but z4 is more gt, my 3.5is is cayman s speed, but with all creature comforts.
Roll in Dsc and exhaust rasp, hood down, doesn't get any better.
