David Beckham

Saw this little story pop up on Facebook today and thought what a really nice guy.

I'm not a fan of football, players and managers generally but nice to see.

i can't help being cynical when i see celebs doing such things

Inclined to agree, but I get the impression he really is a genuine guy.
I saw a documentary on him a while ago, where he rode a motorbike through the Amazon (or similar). On meeting some locals his co rider asked them if they knew who he was. They didn't have a clue - he was absolutely delighted!
Impossible to get away from the fame but it also showed he was trying to bring up his kids with the right values. I think the oldest had a 'Saturday job' he was moaning about he had to get up early for - But dad had insisted he did it

I wonder if he would have done the same if the paramedic was a 50 year old male?

Seriously though if he has done it just as a nice gesture for someone in need, good on him.

But why stay around for the photo, if it was genuine, make then a brew and then leave, not hang around to say "look at me, I a kind person helping others"...........

This story is a couple of weeks old when it was even featured on the lunchtime news.

I'm sure he is one of the nicest celebrities and whilst I don't think that this episode was a set up, it won't have done his PR any harm.

I have on good authority he's an (almost overly) nice bloke, makes a lot of effort with people naturally.

Of course it's great publicity for the Beckham empire but notwithstanding that I do think he's a genuine guy and does things for the right reason.

Never got FIFA Player of the Year, but maybe he'll get some kind of care in the community award now? Finally some recognition.

Seems like a top bloke.

Well for those who didn't read the story he didn't even make the brew, supposedly saw them, acknowledged them, jumped in his car and appeared back a short time later (10mins) with a cup of tea and coffee for them whilst they waiting outside in the bitter cold. I'm sure the paramedic probably asked for the picture, not believing her luck. I think most people would ask to be honest and he's hardly going to say sorry no, I'm too busy when he's just gone out of his way to do such a deed.

All I've heard of David Beckham is positive things. He really does do very good deeds which a lot of other people no matter what their circumstances wouldn't do. He is just a good fella

But on the other side of the coin people go out of their way everyday to help other people in need and it's never reported. If he had ignored them, that wouldn't have made the news. Just maybe showing that everyone can make a difference even if it's just providing a warm drink to someone when they are out in the cold.

My next door neighbors son was at Utd for three seasons, he never made the first team. He used to say to me all the younger lads used to look up to him and he was always there for them with a friendly ear. He said he was an alround nice guy.
