I have a 4 year Z4 coupe and the display for the clock on the radio display and the instrument cluster have both gone blank. All the other functions on the radio and instrument cluster are working, and I can still change the temperature , Mpg etc from the stalk . All that shows where the numbers where previously is 2 dash's ,a dot and 2 dash's. Have tried the reset option but only get the oil level option. Any ideas ?

Why not just go to the settings and type in the date and time?
Usually goes blank like this if the battery was disconnected.

This happened on my old Z4 when the battery was about to die. The starting of the engine was enough to deprive the computer of its settings and would reset, just like when you disconnect the battery.
You need to reset the values as per cj above, but it might indicate a weak battery.
