DAMP FOOTWELLS!!!

Yesterday I had to put a box on the passenger floor well (I'm an IT engineer and had to transport 4 monitors....two in the boot, one on the passenger seat and one on the floor).

Anyway, when I took the floor one out, the edge of the box was wet.

I checked the carpet under the floor mat and it was damp. Not soaking, but definitely felt damp. (today I also checked the drivers side...and thats the same!).

Now then, with all the hot weather we've had I would expect it to be bone dry, although Wednesday night it rained a lot, and the other thing that happened yesterday was the passenger door window wouldn't shut (you know, when it goes up then down again on its own). I reset that, but wondered if that indicated the window not quite properly shut.....but thinking about it, if rain leaked in the passenger window, then the drivers footwell wouldn't be affected would it?

So, the other thing I've thought about is the aircon drains? The aircon has been working overdrive recently, so if the drains are blocked, would it come into the cabin?

Any thoughts? I only noticed this yesterday, so dont know if its new or been a while. I havent had any condensation on the inside of the windows even though at times the car has been baking when I've got in.

I've got the original carpet mats that come with the car....do these cause "sweating"? Thats a long shot I know, but I cant have another leaky Z4!!!

Have you driven through any standing water Kevin? can only either be faulty door seals or a missing plug somewhere. The onIy water off the air con is off the condensor. I drove through some floodwater after thunderstorms on Monday morning, kept it at like 1mph, pi$$ing off the long queue of traffic behind me :)

Dont think so....the roads have been dry in the day (hence cleaning it two weeks ago and its still quite clean!). When it rained the other night I was tucked up in bed, so no driving for the Z4.

Try checking roof drain holes as if there blocked it can fill up and spill over into cabin, check behind seats to see if it wet
