No harm in the short term, but it may mean air gets into it and starts to pull it away from the mountings.

Mine came off at the ring one year, and we went to one of the race team garages who kindly let us use a ramp and tools/bolts to temporarily affix it.

It's about £200 from UK dealers, but about £120 from Scmiedmann for part #6.

low ball him, get him to ship as a 0 value item and bag a bargain.
 
Mine dropped down on the M5 the day i bought the car :x Left it in the bin in the services. Dont see the point in them myself, cars never used to have them.

Very important to undercar airflow, rear end downforce from the diffuser, etc.
Would never leave it off long term

It may not be a supercar
But non the less
The tray diffuser all work in tandem to keep car on floor
Hence new cars have them as apposed to old cars

Absolutely - To not have a key part of the aero is not sensible. Everything from reduced performance, increased fuel consumption, increased noise.
Still if folks are happy without, then that's great.
 
It's not just the aero either. It will stop lots of crud getting onto belts/motors/pumps on the bottom of the engine.

Although I'd prefer to have all my aero in place for 170mph runs on the autobahn, and 130+moh curves/crests at the ring.

Good you've found a good body man who can mix some epoxy to get it sorted.

Aero starts working at lower speeds than you think - the undertray also helps with cooling. I can understand why folks have a split option of them given our motorway speed limits and climate in the UK, but good aero is a marvellous thing - the underside of a Z4 is really rather clever if you get the chance to take a look... :tumbleweed:

That's what I'm doing with mine. Taped up then repaired from the inside out using either flashing (quick) or epoxy + matting. The cost of a new one is silly.
