Damaged Front Bumper

Should be... I had two deeper grazes taken out of my bumper last year when I had it resprayed. Think it was about £150 - £200 for the bumper. Can't remember the exact cost as I had some panel dents removed at the same time.

'Easily' and 'repairable' are the different parts to the question.
Repairable - yes
Easily - depends on the quality and durability of finish. The hardest bit will be the profile on the the lower lip, while the upper graze is very visible highlight.

That said I'm sure if the price is right on ebay then factor in £200 for as bodyshop on a 'no rush off the car' basis and shoudl work out well.

I got it for £81.50 delivered. Since it's with the lower grille I think it's a good price no?

Bargain...I saw it earlier and just tried to find it again only for it to be sold! Good purchase in my opinion!

that is cheap ! ive seen damaged ones for 150 on fleebay. interested to know how you get on with it.

just need to get the brake ducts (and the brackets for them) and i've got all the parts I need. with the respray I'm probably looking at between £250-£300 for the whole project I think. :D

Even better will be the fact that I can add another M badge to my signature! Wooohooo!! :poke: (at myself).

Good work.

The nice thing, IMO, is that BMW didn't make the M in Sterling grey (I think), so it will make your's more individual

Have you thought about getting the rail wrapped in a dark colour? I think it's a really good look.

If they're not on your list already, try this lot s for the ducts... www.bmminiparts.com

I would personally attempt to fill it, and repair it myself - which will take time and patience but should be pretty easy - and then get a bodyshop to cut it back and respray it - the prep work can costs as much as the painting itself.

Saw that myself last night when it was about 65 quid, was'nt sure how much it would cost to a decent repair/spray and buy the brake duct's and figured it could be getting pretty close to the 600 for a brand new from M Style that's ready to put the car and decided to leave left it, who know's there could be 2 Sterling Grey's going round with M front's on them soon.

I was actually thinking the same thing after looking at a couple of DIY videos. I think i'll give it ago... worse case scenario is I can't do it, so nothing to lose really.

I have fixed much worse before - and its pretty simple -just need to be patient.

You can get repair kits from halfords even, but imo all you need it a bit of body filler - a can of primer and lots of wet and dry of different grades.

Once primed, dry and smooth a spot lamp is a good way for spotting inperfections.

I just got quoted £180 for respray and repair. Might get a couple of stone chips and small dents in the door sorted too while i'm at it.

If your having just the bumper sprayed, the colourmatch wont be exact unless your having it blended to the rest of the bodywork.

From experience it will look fine until the light hits at a certain angle and then the difference will be VERY obvious.
I had the same so I've had my whole frontend resprayed now and its perfect, cost a bit though :o

Take it out of town to the sticks for a cheaper price.

Dreamer, Thanks for the insight. Where did you take yours? If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you?

I was thinking instead of spraying the front bumper I could just wrap it in sterling grey. what do you guys think?

hi peddy, just dragging up you old thread.

how much would you guys pay for an m bumper with no grilles? there are a couple on ebay but are way overpriced and i would consider peddys as a bargain (that i nearly bought but stepped back when i saw this post)
