DAB going deaf..is it the diversity unit?

Compared to the F56 and XC70 seems deafer..

DAB doesn't go through the Diversity unit.
The L-Band (next to the GPS antenna above the windscreen) goes directly to the rear of the headunit, as does the Band-III (behind the right side of the rear bumper). It's Band-III that we use here in the UK  so a long run for the cable, anything could damage it.

Thnx..I thought the DAB ‘bolted on’ but I thought I’d check..especially as I drilled a hole in the DA case inadvertently…

I’ll swap the CIC unit back to my original in the winter ..see if that changes things..I’ll check the cable

Any track record on DAB head units ‘going off’?

When you say "I thought the DAB ‘bolted on’", you're not entirely wrong. Originally there was a separate DAB module, just like the Video module, in fact it uses the same bracket in the boot, under the left side cubby (shallow version cubby for module). Now I tried to retrofit one of these previously, but I couldn't get it to work properly. ISTA, INPA and NCSExpert all saw the module but the headunit couldn't. It was working, as such, as it's on the MOST ring, and there was no fault with it, but it just wouldn't work for radio reception. In the end I gave up.
I've tried asking about it on some other groups but was told it's only for CCC systems and not our CIC, but that is incorrect, so basically nobody knows about it properly. Alas I don't know for sure when it was phased out, but it's definitely in the parts list, but also DAB was available as a full in-built headunit from the start, so I'm not sure, maybe early 2009 cars may have it.

Mine are the integrated units..but still looks like they bolted it on under the covers…🧐😂

Ahh, I see what you mean. Yeah I thought that before as well, another thing I looked into was swapping that board out, but it was too much hassle for someone like me to do.
