hi, been looking at polishers to have a go at paint correction on carbon black zm coupe, i used to paint cars many moons ago so still have a fair bit of equipment, my rotary air polisher is ok but messy as fairly fast speed, borrowed an electric polisher with a speed control but still messy and uncomfortable, had heard about new generation of dual action polishers being less aggressive so dug out my old 6" da air sander, fitted a velcro backing pad that takes the 3m foams and what a result, easy to use, no holograms, gentle on paint too, any one else thought of or tried this ? when imentioned it to the guy in the paint factors he was totally dismissive and said never heard of it and it would damage the paint, but i can confirm that it does'nt heat the paint anthing like a rotary does, just interested to hear opinions from any detailers in the know. shining from an early age, shining from an early age !
