DA machine and polish combination recommendation

Evening all!

I recently purchased my Z4 Coupe and the paintwork was heavily swirled, I think it had suffered from poor washing methods for quite some years.
So one of the first tasks was to try and remove the swirls and bring back some colour to the paint, as the clear coat had almost gone cloudy due to years of contamination to the paint.

I can appreciate that it can take a very long time to pick the right combo of pad and polish and the reason for this post is that i can seriously recommend the Chemical Guys Hexlogic green pad, and the Zaino swirl remover polish. It has provided some great results.

Ofcourse the photos speak for themselves.

there are still some swirls remaining, which I need to sort out, but that will be another time.

If you give lessons then Flimper would be interested.! He's not far from you.

Great job - huge improvement.

Have you got a polisher yet Byron? I bought a DAS pro and have not used it on the zed yet but had great results on my daughter's old Yaris which we figured I could test it on as it was a mess already and could only be improved :D We bought the Yaris from our neighbour and she thought we'd had it resprayed!

Anyway, the point is, happy to bring it over and we can have a play. I don't mind shelling out on a few more pads and some polish.

Also I want to take a look at your supercharger setup

hey Stu, I've got a rotary but I'm going to leave that well alone until I'm comfortable, ill use a DA until I'm competent and tbh if i find a decent one that I'm happy with ill sell the Rotary.

Stu your welcome anytime to come and see the car!! anytime!

I've a DAS 6 Pro and already made a first pass with Scholl Concept polish, great results!

I'll go now with Menzerna products, this one should fit your needs

Mine is a DA. I'm highly unlikely to ever get enough practice to get competent with a rotary and Bing and I saw what an idiot armed with a rotary can do when we saw what the new owner had done to #69's paint. Absolutely ruined it with holograms. She was Alpina Blue II and when he sold her back to Sytner they advertised her with flat blue paint

Interested in this topic - to bring up my Z4 in some areas.

Currently on VAG paint i use Sonax 04/06 and Scholl S17+ with good results.
I hear that BMW paint can be a touch harder than VAG....

So do i need a harsher compound? I have a Flex VRG and MF pads which offer great cut.

Any input welcome.
