Current thoughts on alignment (2024)

I am thinking of getting the Bilstein yellow dampers with the stock springs. I use trackday tyres all year round, currently Yokohama AD08R on the front and soon to be AD09 on the back.

What are the current thoughts over suspension alignment for mostly "fast road" with the occasional trackday? I hardly do any miles so wear isn't an issue but I don't really like how "pointy" it is on the road at present, particularly when going over bumps.

I have since taken 0.25 deg of camber off at the rear due to tyre wear and driving on more straight roads

After raising the ride height on my car (coil-overs), removing spacers and going back to OE 18s from 19s I had it aligned to E46 M3 CSL settings and it was totally transformed. :D

I had it done by Will Gibson who runs TWG Automotive in Camberley and is ex-Sytner, but I read recently he isn't doing alignments any more. Which is a shame as he currently races Legends and got interviewed on ITV4 last Sunday after winning the first race at Knockhill. :(

I am using R888R, 265 at front 325 at rear. For autoX and track setting.
Front:
Toe out 0"05'
camber: 3deg25"
rear:
0 toe 0 camber. all straight setting.
