Hello All,

Off to collect my 2005 Z4 Roadster Today. 1st Z4!

Car has the Ellispsoid alloys - on Run flats.

Based on my 5 Series experience, I'd like to change these over over to standard tyres.

What the are general recommendations on tyre choice?

Also, some form of cup holders will be required!....what's the general recommendation on these? I think I've seen some online which look like they replace the dash vents?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,
The cup holders fit under the side vents where you currently have blanks.
Bigwinn did a tutorial about fitting them here:
https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1883251&hilit=cupholder#p1883251
I bought these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nrpfell-Dashboard-Holders-51457070323-51457070324/dp/B08MTHSYGC/ref=sr_1_10?crid=3HWA3DC14A0I2&keywords=z4+cup+holder&qid=1644673055&quartzVehicle=16-10280&replacementKeywords=cup+holder&sprefix=z4+cup+holder%2Caps%2C1068&sr=8-10
They come with the new front plate as well.
Not sure if there is a choice of faceplate colour as I believe they can be grey or black.

Well you should have your Z4 by now Scott, so don't forget we like to see photos!

Tyres are a very personal choice and it might depend a bit on how you drive. Based on a recommendation from a forum member I had a set of Kumho Ecstas fitted to my car last year and I've been pleased with them. But others go for Michelin PS4s or Goodyear Assy 1s - so many choices!

I doubt most of us would notice the difference between the alternatives so long as they aren't ditch-finders!

Thanks both, will do! Just back after a 150 mile drive!

1st impressions are great....it's the 2.5 and needs to be revved a little, but drives well enough. Not as crashy as expected!

Will grab a picture tomorrow!

Only gripes are a spare (non-functioning key - battery required) and a rattle right in the drivers ear (sounds like could be roof cables?) - to explore tomorrow!
