Im going to buy some retrofit cup holders and was wondering if anyone had any tips\pics of how to do this. i know its prob a simple job but don't want to end up with any rattles if poss! ta

I did it some time ago. Its very easy, no specials.
If I remember well there is somewhere in the forum a pdf file descibing the procedure. Try a search...

I have these http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/ and they are great. I do not use the factory ones. These are low to the ground and hold the drink very well. Love 'em!!

Forget the OEM's.

Cool, great accessory, thanks!

One thought on the rattle; is this definitely a rattle from the unit, rather than the drink rattling in the holder?

The only reason I ask is because I have heard of several people who don't realise you can press the arm of the cup holder to tighten it against the drink container (it has a ratchet).. I'm sure that doesn't apply to anyone here, but just in case...!

My vents were loose, have you tried tightening the screws... fantastic build quality on this cars....

Dad has a 11 year old audi and nothing creaks or rattles.

maybe ill check the screws :)

I know the build aint great, but it is better than my previous two cars (Alfa and Peugeot) and my wife's current car (Citroen Saxo)

I fitted the OEM cupholder, dead easy and supprisingly no rattles (yet)!!! My advice would be to buy a new black cap thing to go over the screw in the top of the vent for about 10p. That way you can just put your phillips screw driver through the current one without marking the vents trying to prise it off.

I had rattles which I thought were the vents but it was infact the plactic panel under the dash in the footwell.........

 on the Ultimates! http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/ . I ordered two, they are hiden out of the way and work very well.
