CSL's real value?

Hi guys

Looking at getting a set of CSL's , now what is the actually value of these ? quite a bit of conflicting info out there. I have sourced a set of gen csls with a receipt from the no main dealer no less! in good nick not requiring refurbing , ok tyres :?

Just doing the numbers, as am guessing i can sell my gen e90 m3 alloys for fairly ok money as the tyres are like new , so man maths is filling the price gap :P

Brand new I believe are £1600 a £1700. I'd expect a decent 2nd hand set (I.e no scuffs, marks, issues) to sell for £1400.

Tyres (unless they are PSS) don't add much value IMO, as they ordinarily aren't what you would have gone for. As such I don't think any 2nd hand set could command more than £1800

Yep i would say that's reasonable for a genuine clean set.

You know it makes sense as they suit BMW's so very well, probably one of the best. Even if they have been done to death on all the forums, its not often you see them on a motor in the real world 8)
 
never quite understood the clammering on here for csl's ,.....Philistine I hear you cry, they are nice but not the be all and end all imo, they look harder to clean than M wheels and look like you nicked them off the local drug dealer's M3, getting a bit common too dare I say, also non standard , may put off a purist purchaser . 1800 quid ? not for me 600 quid i would have a set that were mint enough not to need a refurb otherwise thats another 400 quid plus nearly 800 for new pss 's theres your 1800. I have always thought a deep polished rim with gold lattice centreed BBS's look the ultimate on most cars.... :thumbsup: sorry , just my personal opinion and each to their own ,(or everybody elses ) if you want to follow the crowd :fuelfire:
 
for me deep polished rims take too much looking after and remind me of the the 1980s, I like them simple dished and easy to clean just lazy really !

maybe, but polished is normally lacquered too so no actual polishing like we used to do with our old wolfrace slots :roll: i do love the sun on those shiny rims tho 8)
 
I've purchased/sold numerous genuine sets for well under 1500 quid, thats way to much, id aim to pay around 1250-1300 MAX for a decent set.....


unless the set you are looking at is close to new and are literally like factory perfect then 1500 is too much op.
 
I don't see how folks can speculate what a set of used wheels are worth without seeing pics & also know the tyre make+tread depths :?
As for paying £1500 for them ? Id be meeting at a tyre place to have them spun in front of me at that money :wink:
 
So to get this straight.

Guy sent me this ...

"Genuine CSL alloy wheels with proper CSL size Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres with loads of tread. Wheels and tyres have done 5000 miles and are 10 months old so alloys have 14 months warranty left."

So 4 x alloys with 4 x tyres as above , with warranty 1500 is too much? and they should be less :?

He has the receipt from bmw and the wheels are spotless
 
I would be interested to see if the warranty stood up TBH.

Mr. Wilks idea though is well worth it as no matter how straight someone claims there wheels to be I would bet any used CSL wheel won't be 100% true with our roads.

£1,500 if immaculate with 5-6mm of tread depth on those tyres is OK I would say.
 
hmmm its a great point only issue is thats not possible to do due to distance involved :( , sounds like i would be paying top money .... then again whats 150 - 200 quid when i do at least have a chance with bmw with the original purchased paperwork and warranty claim if there were any issues.

Ye at that price I would like to know they had no crack etc easy to do with uk roads!

I don't think that sounds insane I've seen them go for more tbh!
 
I think £1500 is a decent price if they check out, unfortunately, you'll have to take a bit of a punt given the distance.

From watching them 6 months ago (very nearly pulled the trigger), £1200 seemed to be the going rate for a clean set without tyres.
 
It all depends how long your willing to wait...

Iv seen sets go for £800 needing refurb and tyres and sets for £1500 fully refurbished with brand new PSS's on and anywhere between.
