many thanks

I recently read that the way to tell a rep, from an OEM, is that it doesn't have 'BMW' written in the gap opposite the badge....which this one doesn't, so I would be sceptical

Wheeldoctor is well known (for the wrong reasons from what I've read).

I have never personally dealt with him but apparently he has a well rehearsed sales patter about these being made by BBS (OEM manufacturer) but they don't have the BMW markings due to copyright etc. His listings have been dumbed down a lot recently, probably due to complaints as they used to be a lot more deceptive.

Bottom line is that these are overpriced reps and I would recommend spending your hard earned with a more reputable seller.

Out of interest, whats the going rate for a decent set of genuine used CSl,s please?

You can get a brand new set for around 1350-1400 so don't get over excited at the high price second hand ones carry. They're only worth it if they include decent tyres.

I asked him to confirm the real make over eBay - he only wanted to talk over the phone.....

Avoid

Where sells them for £1400 brand new? I thought they were close to £2k new.

I can't find the link and I don't want to be a "search nazi", but there was a thread where a couple of sites selling originals around this price were discussed.

I think you are being optimistic with £1400 for new genuine OEM e46 CSL wheels (not the e46 cs set which has 1/2 inch narrower fronts compared with the e46 CSL). CA automotive have them listed online at £1736 a set including vat, worth a phone call and negotiation. I got mine from them a couple of years ago.

Mine were £1740 iirc with 10% discount from Bridgwater BMW, which I thought was a great price, I sold my old set with tyres for £1200
