So, back on topic - a quick question please - the MAF function is deleted and the temp wires from the MAF are used for an intake temperature input for the Alpha N map?
If so, that's an elegant solution to the problem - any power runs been done yet??
Thats exactly how it is ;-)
Car runs great, when I actually get to drive it,havent seen it for 3 months.. :-!
No dyno runs, but a few track days under the belt and def runs a lot stronger.. in the process of tying the whole thing together...
Most just bend the original one. You can buy a CSL one but it's a bit of a pain as half of the airbnox needs to come off to check oil level (CSL has a dash display of oil level). Part 17 here http://www.bmminiparts.com/DiagramView.aspx?DiagramId=83409&MOSP=50641
Whilst I don't take much notice of dyno numbers in general I did have mine mapped on a dyno which I have a fair amount of trust in. I had another car on it that has been on a few different dynos, it reads a little pessimistically relatively.
This is with cams also. My friend had his M3 mapped on it as well with just a CSL box, it made something like 351 from recollection.
If you want to save your money don't go and listen to one in real life, it's a wallet opener!
Thanks Tom - that's helpful! I had a quick look on mine and figure that the original dipstick can be 'swivelled' in the original hole in the sump to get the position where you want - a quick bend to finish off should be the final thing as you say...
I expected a power increase of around 20hp honestly (going from my own S14 experiences) so for the cash, it's not a bad increase for what is already a 100hp/litre N/A engine...
The sound, of course is a whole different matter - the CF air box on my little S14 is worth all the blood, sweat, tears and overdrafts!! I've heard a few CSLs in my time and that noise is *definitely* worth the effort.
