Cruise control - retrofit

I’m planning a road trip around Scotland in September, but I think I’d benefit from having cruise control fitted. I’m driving a 2008 E85 3.0si roadster. I’ve read ‘no wiring needed, plug and play. Trim the cowling and off you go’ but I can’t believe it’s that easy? I’m hopeless with anything electrical and wouldn’t attempt the job myself unless it really is that simple?
Has anyone done it themselves or paid to have it fitted?

I think gannet has done this and posted instructions. Search for retrofit cruise

It's not, you'll need the wiring loom as you won't have it. You need to tap into a pair of wires at the LCM and run one wire into the engine bay.

It's not that hard but quite fiddly. If you pay someone they will probably rip you off. It doesn't need any coding and is probably only a 2 hour job for a garage... takes me about 4 though!

Thanks guys, I may ask at my local indi - have a long relationship with them so they will tell me straight if they can do it and the cost. I might source the part and get a quote for fitting :)

Here's the instructions......

Cheers Alan,
that's confirmed to me what I thought - definitely beyond my capabilities.
