The only stalk that will work and fit on the Z4 is the Z4 stalk.
E46 owners who fitted an aftermarket steering wheel but still wanted cruise control would fit a Z4 stalk.
The squib/slip ring for the E39, E46, E53, E85 etc generation of BMW's were all shared but the Z4 was the only one they made a stalk for. The rest had buttons on the steering wheel.
The next generation of BMW's everything was changed/redesigned.
