Creaky xenon?

So today I had the bonnet up whilst fitting new sidelights and noticed that when I turned the sidelights in there was a loud creak from something in the engine bay.
Any ideas? Thought it might be the xenon levelling but they weren't on?

They auto level when you put the sidelights on.

Ah right ok. So can they be lubricated?

Probably, but you will need to remove the headlight to see the mechanism.

it happens when you turn on the electronics, just as you did, putting the sidelights on. so this is normal, nothing serious about the creaky sound you hear I guess
