Creaking Drivers Seat

Today, I noticed the upper part of the drivers seat creaking when I lean against it or when I go round a corner. The noise is coming from the inside middle.

There is also a knocking noise and slight movement on the base.

Anybody has this on their M? It's going into the dealers tomorrow for them to look at...
 
Yep I get this, either when accelerating or braking hard. Not had chance to get the dealer to look at.
 
Please ask if this is seat specific or car specific. Many of us with nonM cars have M seats. Mine sometimes make a little noise, nothing that has me too concerned, yet, but she's still under warranty.
 
The seat back needs tightening, mine was the same, rock the headrest of both seats (side to side) and listen to the difference.

I had clunks on L and R bends, basically its from the bolts holding it all together. Took it to the dealer, they tightened the bolts, all okay now
 
Not great.

Waited and hour to be told they couldn't find the problem. Most of that hour the car was sat where I left it as they were busy. Then demonstrated it to the Master Tech who agreed there was an issue and said it needed to be booked in and apologised for making it a wait job yesterday.

The bolts were tightened on the floor though - stopped the clunking, the car is booked in for two days in a few weeks time (first loan car) to get the creak in the back part of the seat sorted. Parts are available so it will likely be an overnight job...
 
I'm getting a slight creaky noise, sounds like it is coming from the base of the seat underneath my right buttock. Doesn't happen all the time so would be difficult to replicate if I took it in to be looked at. Hope it gets better or worse so I can get it looked at...
 
Could be the leather on the outside side of the seat bolster moving against a plastic housing thats located on the side of the seat.
 
It feels more like something is giving way slightly in the seat itself rather than just a noise

definitely got exactly the same thing by the sounds of it.. its like a click that suggests it's just dislodged itself, doesnt happen very often but is distracting when it does..

have already mentioned it to my dealer and he said he took the seat apart but it's still there.
 
luckily i dont have these issues, and i did get to test my seats to the limit with last weeks trackday, but as this seems very common i will monitor and report back!! or maybe ill be pro-active and re-torque the bolts!!

Are you tall? My seat was creaking and I noticed it was the seat back rubbing against the plastic trim above the rear speaker. Had to bump the back forward a bit to make it stop.
 
My noise definitely comes from the bottom of the seat not the back, feels a bit like a spring has gone or something :?
 
My seat creak was two things:

1. Seat base bolts, tightened and stopped the knocking noise
2. Seat back creak, temperature related and disapreared once the temp raised

Ended up not taking it in after all!
