cracked alloy repair

anyone know where i can get a cracked alloy welded in north east london/essex this side of xmas ?

Try BJV engineering. It's not in Essex but near St Albans so not too far.
Is it safe to repair a cracked alloy???

The weld is typically stronger than the parent metal, my only concern would be the heat-affected zone that might need some post heat treatment to normalise the grain structure. Best bet is to talk to the welder and their experience, make sure that they are qualified (ASME would be perfect) and not some back street one man band.
