1) Is there any way of telling if our Z4M has been used without my consent. I left my car in the care of a "friend" temporarily and I am suspicious that 60 - 70 miles have been put on it. I may have made a mistake with my recollection of the mileage but there definitely seems to be more fuel in it than when I left it. Would the ECU show times and dates of usage?

2) Would pressure washing the roadster roof do any harm?

Hi,

1)...no Idea, but if there's more fuel in it well isn't it worth it and there's obviously no damage otherwise you would have said :)
2)...I pressure wash mine once a year never seen any problems, I like to get all the winter grime and dirt out !

1) Nothing in DIS or INPA that could tell you this. There may be a way, but I doubt it. Journeys aren't 'logged' in the DME that I'm aware of, or not in a way that could be easily viewed. There may be another way but I don't know of it. Take a picture of the mileage next time if your worried, what I usually do :wink:
 
Intravee is for music of an iPod / phone etc which some clever display on the satnav screen.

It also connects to the K-bus and can therefore display a fair amount of detail about the car (amount of fuel used, last inspection etc). I can not remember if it details much more than that, but was going to suggest checking in the menu what it showed if you did have it.

I usually log the miles when I leave the car anywhere and others have access to it (dealer etc). In this case I didn't think anyone would use it. I may be wrong but as the car is on a limited mileage policy, I have just been keeping an eye on how much I use it. If this would have been my daily, I wouldn't have a clue.

I don't think it has it then. I have been through all the menus on the satnav and there is nothing about ipod etc.
 
Option One - Tell your friend that the police have contacted you about a car with your registration that was seen being driven near the scene of a crime committed whilst you were away. Let your friend know that you're very concerned that your car must have been cloned as you were out of the country at the time and your friend obviously wouldn't drive it without your consent. Tell him that the police have asked you to check if the key holder drove it before they start searching CCTV for images of the driver's face with a view to prosecution for driving a stolen vehicle, driving without insurance and potentially for committing the crime under investigation. If he shits himself, you have your answer :lol:

Option Two - use the pressure washer on your mate :P

I like it. I already asked if he used it and he said no.

Car seems clean the there are pressure wash marks on the hood that I haven't seen before. To be fair, I have never looked at the hood that closely but I am sure I would have seen them before. I reckon he has nipped out in it, got bird crap or something on the roof and had to clean it. Then put the car back.
