Couple of questions..

Been playing with the car all weekend and loving it however I've got a couple of questions:

On my old Z4 if you pressed the unlock button on the key fob it would only open the drivers door, you had to press it again to open the passenger door. Is this something that can be programmed or does the feature no longer exist?

I'm unable to display text messages on the Nav screen, where as I could before?

The boot unlock button on the key fob only works if the car is open, is this correct?

Other than that it's ace, the car does seem to attract a lot of attention though in a good way, I even got the thumbs up from an old guy in a F430 which I thought was strange!

Thanks

My boot unlock works whether the car is open or locked (03 2.5i)

Yeah my 03 Roadster does as well but, on the Coupe it seems the car needs to be unlocked before the boot button works?

Newer cars need to be unlocked before the boot release will work. I asked at dealer when they programmed the car for me. It's not able to be changed apparently.

I think the one press full unlock is a programming option.. Mine unlocks both doors at once with one push. (07 2.5Si)

My sat nav won't display texts either...the one in my 04 M3 did so I think its a software change.

Locking is programable - you can also enable anti hi jack to lock when you pull away...your dealer can do it

BMW changed the locking sequence due to the amount of call out they were having from people locking thier keys in the boot with the doors locked. I noticed this wehn picking mine up, it's not something the dealer can re-programme, it's a software change.

Always thought it was pointless to have a boot release button anyway. Not so difficult to tilt tha cute little Beemer badge on my coupe..

Yeah I made sure the dealer enabled that before I left but didn't realise both doors opened with one touch of the key fob. I guess they will try and charge me to change it.

Gids If your in the north London area I can sort that for you. I'm a tech at a dealership in kentish town.

Thanks for the offer mate, but I'm near Birmingham. Useful to know we've got tech on the board though, prepare yourself for a barrage of questions!
