COUPLE OF NEWBIE QUESTIONS ?

Hi.

I am new to the forum, just wondering if you can help me with a few queries:-

1. How do you know if your car has auto wipers (apart from the obvious) ........mine (if it has them) dont come on when it starts raining, i thought all 3.0's had them for some reason ?.

2. I also have a rattle on top of the dash, just in front of the speedo, when i was doing my homework on these cars before i bought it, EVO magazines 3.0 Long term test car also had a rattle from the top of the dash which all of a sudden dissaperared (hoping mine will too)........is this a common niggle on the Z4 ?........If so what is it ?

the only way i know to tell if you have auto wipers is the sensor on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror,you will notice if you have one.......i dont know about the rattle in your dash... the only thing that rattles in mine are the lock buttons on the door that pop up when you open the door.. they rattle like crazy

The Auto wipers work with the stalk in the first position. When you switch the car off though you have to switch off then back on again.

If you have them.....
The rain sensor wiper function has to be shut OFF, then ON each time it's needed.
(it's to prevent inadvertent activation in a car wash)

I thought it was to prevent accidental activation when the wipers are frozen to the screen.
