First close up view of a Coupe today - I'm a newbie.

It's in the showroom at Williams Bolton, I think it was this one.

It's only a few days since I googled one as I'd never seen the boot open and wondered where it hinged and how it all worked.

Likes
Better storage room.
Feels roomier inside, the view through the rear view mirror is nice.
Engineering of roof to hatch area.
View of car from front over big sloping roof.


Dislikes
Overhanging 'clam' shape of roof (can see that they have tried to carry the rear wing line around the top of the lights) which makes it looks like it sits too far back on the bumper IMHO.
The roof doesn't go down - Duh

Conclusion
I can see why they are popular, I think if I wanted a high speed blast down through France it would be great in a coupe.

It also feels more grown up than a soft-top.

It's a very different car from my roadster which has the roof down at every opportunity. But that's why I bought it.

Perhaps a Coupe for weekdays and a Roadster for the weekend/summer evenings ?

E89 best of both worlds?, not a sports car?, more a GT?

Opinions anyone .......
 
Depends on what you want. People choose what they believe is right for them and as somebody whose owned both roadster and coupe they vary for many obvious and equally valid reasons.

That said, you do sound like somebody who wants to buy a coupe though :!:
 
Been in touch with the dealer about this car, nice spec but I feel its overpriced even after being reduced by £500.

It feels like they were quite desperate to sell it to me.

Coupe's are the best looking cars in my opinion and it has one of the best combinations - Black, red leather, piano black finish. Eventually I decided against it as I want an auto.
 
Personally, I think the roadster with a hardtop looks better than a coupe - you could leave it on all the time if you wanted. :poke:

If you do change your mind about this one, carefully inspect the NSF wing which has an area of pin holes (?) in the lacquer and also a poor fit around the passenger door.

Didn't inspect the car thoroughly as I didn't want to buy it, but this stuck out.

Pin holes also evident on the tailgate, looks like someone had noticed this area before as there was a big thumb print in the polish next to it.

Yes I did like the Coupe, when I sat in it, it kind of reminded me of a Vantage experience I had a few months ago.
 
Roadster all the way. I have a hardtop for the few times I feel it's necessary to have a roof.

The remainder of the time, the roof is down. Open top motoring is IMO the best way to drive :)

I think E89 M Sport is sports car. Its handling is as sharp as E85. The RHT is excellent :thumbsup: .

Thanks for the heads up, im actually putting a deposit on another car today.. all to be revealed shortly! 8)

Hmmm, on recollection the 3.5i twin turbo that beat me to 3 figures, both cars from a standstill, was pretty quick !

Mind you in all the excitement I did forget to press the Sport button, plus I was two up at the time (can't think of any more excuses).

:D
