Coupe . . . Decided and found one

Moris,

Yes, well done. It is Stratus Grey. You know your BMW colours.

The dealership is pushing me to have their version of gap insurance now. They've bundled in loads of stuff, such as:
Ensuring the full purchase price is repaid in the event of a total claim (or words to that affect  )
Damage cover for all 5 tyres
The locks against damage or lost keys
Plus an 'A' glaze on the paint work worth £375 on its own

All for the sum of £875 !! Say it quick and it doesn't sound so bad :|

Sure you're getting a lot for your money, but the bloody thing is already £700 over budget and I've still got my additional insurance premium to pay yet  . I can't see me doing it.

Need any rent boys round your way :D

Have you paid for this yet, if not then don't do it!!!

Get gap or RTI insurance from here http://www.click4gap.co.uk/
Tyre insurance from here http://www.aidingmobility.com/tyre_insurance.htm £79 for 2 years, £250 per tyre, max 5 tyres in period
Paint treatment is not worth it.

As Mike says - don't go for it.

I managed to get BMW GAP for £275 down from £900

Oh no, now you tell me :headbang:

Just kidding.

I mentioned it to the wife... The doctor says the swelling should go down after a few days :o

I've spent enough on the car and insurance etc. already, so I wasn't about to part with any more hard earned cash.

Cheers guys

Only hours to go now and would you believe it, I got a call for the Mini on the way home tonight. The guy sounded very keen. I said he'd have to be quick because I'm due to px it in the morning, he said what for and I told him a Z4. He said "you won't beleive this, I've just this minute sold my Z4 to buy a JCW Mini Cooper S"!! What are the odss.

He'll be round at 09:30 tomorrow morning - I hope

Wondermike, thanks for the links, I'll be looking into those. I'm just gutted I paid £500 for the Harley gap insurance :headbang:

Well it's nearly 11:30 Saturday and the time waisting looser (and I mean looser, the Mini is mint) hasn't turned up or even rung. Spent all of Friday night waxing the car too :headbang: .

What's happening to people in this country :x

Still on the bright side, I'm off now to pick up the Z4

I'll give you all an update later :driving: .

The dark side of selling privately is the quantity of time wasting idiots you have to endure.

Anyway, bigger and better things - how's the new beast?

:worthless:

Oh my god!!

We were both realy sad to see the Mini go. It was our first new car and had served us well for 5 years.

We werent very impressed with the service at Stephen James BMW. The salesman was very indifferent and seemed to be in a hurry to complete the transaction (no doubt as there wasn't much margin on the car).

Anyhow, stuff that. The car is like something from a dream. we had a good walk round it before we went in. It was completely mint, inside out, under the bonnet, like it had just rolled off the production line. Just starting it was like a synmphony played by the devil and his orchestra. The power, ride and build quality is flawless. The journey home saw 38 - 40 mpg at a steady 80mph and digging it around showing all the friends and family it's still returning 30 mpg, way more then the mini. To think it's better on fuel then the mini, the same road tax and the same insurance. It even fits in the garage. My world is complete :D My wife and I kept saying it was like a dream; it didn't seam real. Like we were only blagging a test drive and it was going to have to be returned.

But it's mine all.... ours

I LOVE THIS CAR :driving:

I'm well and truly in the club

Christ, I love this car. It's just perfect :P . The looks the sound the drive.

You should have seen me inching it into our small garage last night with my wife guiding me in. You'd have thought it was an airbus A380 going in! Spent this morning carpeting the walls in there. It looks like a mental asylum now :headbang: .

I've got to be careful, the power and sound is sooo addictive I raced a DB7 a couple of hours ago. We were neck and neck all the way to .....

I've got to control my use of the loud pedal. My mpg has dropped to 27 now :o 8)

I've got a 230 mile round trip tomorrow and I can't wait :)

 Sounds like me my normal MPG is 26 but managed to control my self the other week and took some deep breaths and cruised at a steady 80-85 getting 33 MPG :D

Set the cruise control on the M40 on the way home at a steady 90 mph and got 31 mpg, which sounds about right. Still better then the Mini
