Coupe Bike Rack (Unseen Photos!)

I know this is a topic that's been discussed many times but I have never seen another person with this rack

The bike in the 1st photo isn't mine, it was delivered to my folks and I couldn't wait to get home to see what it was like.

The 2nd photo was after we had finished a 20mile run over Rannoch more. 80 miles on back roads back and the bikes were fine :D

It works really well after you get over the fact that the bikes move about!

Strangely aesthetically pleasing...are you worried about any damage to the boot?

Nah no issues at all, I've probably done 600 - 700 miles witha couple of bikes on the back and you would never know. Hatch huggers for the top and a couple of cheeky liitle peices of neoprene for the other cable attachments.

My bike isn't exactly light so it useually has about 30 -35 Kg of weight and like I say, no issues.

It's amazing how many people look at the car when the bikes are on :D

Taz it's as easy as you like, you can even open and close the book without taking it off. You just need to be careful and remember to tighten the straps again afterwards. :D

It's a Saris Gran Fondo and it folds really flat so it's dead easy to store as well. The main issue is it's expensive and only takes 2 bikes. I was prepared to pay a bit more and with only 2 seats the capacity was no issue either.

Pic of the pervious owners rack on the car that now belongs to me..

I have toyed with the idea of getting a bones rack but I've always had roof mounted solutions prioir to getting the Z and I've always been a bit wary of the book racks so this one fitted the bil for me.

It is only when I can't steal SWMBO's car she's got on Outlander so the bikes usually end up on the roof of that.

£225!!! bleeding heck you can buy a couple of bikes at your destination for that! Only worth it if its a place you revisit the same place regularly mind you :poke:

Not when you MTB costs more than your first car and about 1/4 of your z4

That must be some mountain bike. For that price i expect it to be able to carry your z4 on the back of it... :poke:

So thats why people buy Coupe's instead of a Roadster so they can store stuff on the top of it, makes sense that!! :poke:

They are really expensive, My MTB is worth a couple of grand as is the other bike that goes next to it most of the time. I've Been keeping my eye out for one of these for a while, I managed to grab one of eBay for £100 :D

If you look arount and are prepared for a bit of over the phione haggling you can get them for about £175 delivered. Still loads though

I only got this cause nobody makes a roof rack!

not sure that's helped my cause to be honest :-?

Looks good but very expensive option. I use a Saris Bones and it works a treat.

It's not that great a bike you can spend a lot more than me. But my zed was only 6k.

Sweet! I'll need a rack for my new coupe and the triathlons next year. Saris bones looks like a good option though
