Coupe b pillar cover

I have been looking for a left A pillar cover for over a year, never even found one for sale except from BMW, and they want $500.00
I ended up recovering mine with new headliner material.

Hello sir.

Iv also been meaning to replace my right hand side A pillar cover. But Iv yet to look into it.

Can you elaborate a bit on your recovering process and results. How’d you match and source the material etc.

I know these are like hens’ teeth because I was looking for one for ages. You could try [ref]Barty[/ref] who did an interior strip and I think he had a set at one point.

Thanks for the mention! I’ve got a set of B-pillar trims laying about, as well as a right-hand side A-pillar trim. Happy to sell if you need them, send me a PM. I unfortunately don’t have the left A-pillar to match. Still, looks like I can make two people happy here

As for transport, we’re in luck: my sister is currently over from the UK so she could take them back to the other side of the channel. Postage or collection would then be fairly easy

The original fabric isn't made anymore so I went with a darker shade of material from these guys, https://www.ascfabrics.com/fabric
They specialize in BMW patterns.
As for the recovering process, a few youtube vids on fabric recovering will bring you up to speed.
As with anything like this, preparation is everything.
Now that I have the A&B covers done I'm thinking it might not be too late to pull it all off and recover with Alcantara :D

Since my last post I think I have found a very close match for the original Anthracite fabric if you're still interested, available here,
https://eliteautofabrics.com/headliner-fabric-for-vw-anthracite/
The weave pattern looks identical to my eye.

I do a lot myself, but professional upholstery is -to me- left to the pro’s. No bleed through, great finish and perfect fitment. Happy days
I am partial to an alcantara headliner… wasn’t cheap, but like the look

Barty, did you lay that Alcantara headliner yourself?
Any problems with bleed through from the adhesive?
