Same around town for me 26-27. Motorway is more like 36-38 for me on the auto..
 
This is interesting stuff. . .

I've had my 3.0si Roadster a month and been a little disappointed by the mpg having read figures like the ones posted here.

On our favourite back roads and enjoying the performance I've struggled to get better than 22 mpg (70 mile round route).

Mixed driving today over 90 miles brought a better 28.8mpg but it took effort and restraint AND I read somewhere that a forumite had improved mpg with the sport button pressed - I prefer the characteristics of the Zed with it on so it stayed on today - any comments or thoughts on this suggestion.

I think I have the sound generator mod - could this be effecting mpg?

It might be me enjoying the performance after the 2.0 litre . . . maybe things will improve. . .we shall see.

My 3.0i could easily average 30mpg on a forum run.

On a spirited drive it was 24mpg

Driving carefully I could get 38mpg :o

I'm driving 20 miles each way to/from work on lincolnshire back roads at very normal commuter speeds and getting 28mpg. I did a run from Lincoln to Oxford a few weeks ago and got 34mpg. My crystal ball says that the extra fuel cost over and above what a diesel would use will be more than offset by the zero depreciation of my Z4 Coupe!
 
My averages over the year with my Z4 3.0Si are:

Total spend: £4123.95
Average MPG (UK): 32.3
Lowest MPG (UK): 26.3
Highest MPG (UK): 38.1
Average Fuel Price: £1.36
PPM: 0.19p
 
Only covered a few hundred miles, with just a few hoons. It looks like 25MPG is the sort of figure I'll be achieving, but driven steadily I'm looking at about 30MPG
