Evening all, anyone within a reasonable travelling distance of Bristol have the skill to code out the active suspension module on the E89 or have an idea how time consuming/ how costly this is likely to be?

I’m hoping it’s not a big coding job, but would be good to get an accurate idea.

Thanks all.

Bimmergeeks Protool can do it along with the less user friendly ISTA..you need to remove the adaptive ECU box prior to code change…

Is it a big job Peter, or is it change a few lines of code? I’ve no idea myself :?

Its conceptually simple..you remove the adaptive damper option from the VO and CAS entries..(this is where the car 'knows' all the things about the car, roughly analagous to the VIN listing) along with no adaptive damper ECU then it

1 Doesn't believe it has an adapative set up so its no longer looking for a box of tricks
2 The box of tricks is no longer sending messages saying I'm here

So its about 3 or 4 button presses once you are connected to the car..

Simples.. :tumbleweed:

Great, thanks.

So I can make all the physical changes, then find an expert ‘button presser’ with a laptop and appropriate software to do the biz and not empty my bank account…. Sounds good

Correct…just disconnect the adaptive ECU and bag and seal the connectors and then code out the unit..
