Cost of Replacing Front Brake Pads, Discs, and Sensor

Can you guys tell me if I'm being ripped off or not. These are estimates I was given from a San Fran Independent Mechanic. Thanks!

2 - Front Brake Discs $209

1 - Set of Front Brake Pads $96

1 - Sensor $21

Tax $32

Labor $143

Grand Total $501

Do you have an M or normal Z4? I had my discs and pads replaced for around 210 dollars on my 3.0si.

Hi this is a very old thread but just if anyone else is looking for an update I just changed my front pads and discs by my independent garage.
Costs:
Front Discs (pair) £95.50
Front Pads (pair) £45.00
Sensor £11.25
Labour £90.00
Vat £48.35
Total £290.10

Labour & vat spoiled the party That should have been sufficient for discs/pads on all 4 corners at an indy . .

Yeah maybe, but not an area of the car I want to cheap out on, i think £90 to fit them is pretty reasonable.

I know the garage and they only deal with performance cars so they are a little more expensive and the mark up on parts is probably a bit higher than a true indy but they are good and they are local so if anything goes wrong I know they will sort it out for me but its not the place that I would take my wifes ford for example

But hey If you know someone who would do the lot for 150 pounds inc labour and VAT and your happy with them thats great!

When I went to dealer they quoted $581for OE for '03 2.5

Went to rockauto.com for pads, new caliper carriers (for upgrade size) and sensor:
Stop tech pads $45
Sensor $13.19
Caliper carrier to upgrade to 300mm on '03 2.5 $23.79 each

Got rotors from topbrakes.com 300mm upgrade (performance slotted/diamond sp performance rotors)
$229

Did it myself so no labor cost but most places by me if you bring in your own they charge $90-$100 per axle to put what you have on.

Total 334.77 and my time
