Correct torque for BKR6EQUP spark plugs?

Gents,

I have got a torque wrench to correctly torque the spark plugs. But I am super confused and do not want to do incorrectly

Amateur mechanic here! This will be my first time using a torque wrench haha!! Am I right in saying that I need to set the plugs to 22ft/lbs on an m54 engine? With BKR6EQUP spark plugs?

Thanks

Yes, those spark plugs are fine for an M54 engine. I use BKR6EIX which is just an upgrade from the BKR6EQUP.
I torque mine to 25NM which I think is about 18ft/ lbs.
Top tip: If using a spark plug socket, (14mm I believe) remove the rubber insert from the socket and throw it away. It may prevent the plug from falling out whilst lowering it into the well, but if you’re not careful, it will come off and get stuck on the plug and then you spend a while scratching your head wondering how to get it off. Ask me how I know!

Hope that helps and hope others agree with me 🙂

If you own more than one vehicle or change plugs for friends and neighbors, consider investing in a magnetic spark plug socket with integrated swivel - 14mm (5/8") Swivel Magnetic Spark Plug Socket with 6" extension.

The magnet is strong enough that I don't have to worry about a rubber insert. The swivel is a great help in awkward spots, but not so necessary on a Z4.
