I recently brought my first E85 Z4 2.5 SE and absolutely love it! However when accelerating hard the engine cuts and i get a trio of dash lights (Hand Brake, EML & DSC). I managed to find older posts with the same issue on the forum and after unplugging the MAF sensor so the car is running off the default settings the issue is gone. New MAF Sensor needed!
Ive managed to find a Continental / Siemens VDO 5WK96471 (BMW Part No. 13627566984) for £166 posted but have seen a few members mention they have used a Hella MAF sensor instead.
Can anyone vouch for how good the Hella sensor is and what the longevity is like? Also if there are any other recommended brands?
I know its best to use an OEM part especially for the MAF sensor but i found out today that Continental / Siemens have discontinued this particular part and have 400 left in stock so knowing what alternatives work well would be great for future E85 owners.
