Hello forum,
A couple of days ago I posted something about my car having very high consumption. After close examination I was able to determine the issue. Fortunately it is not a VANOS failure but this problem is most common in BMW engines bigger than 2.5l (and has been reported also in other cars with similar engine builds). It's a syndrome called "grave pede", most commonly known as "heavy foot". After "slight" modifications of my driving style I realized that I too can get 35-40 mpg with my Zed.
Love you all for your support and the paranoia I went through with regards to VANOS failure and other problems.
Regards,
Alex
