Hi,

I keep having a problem with the windscreen on my z, whenever it is cold outside or raining the inside of the windscreen steams up and needs constant demisting.... (Or I have to drive with the window down, gets a bit chilly!)

Has anyone had similar problems/ know how to solve it?

LOL. Thanks for the response - was thinking of using something like Rain X on the inside of the screen?

I find this happens only when I have the aircon set to about 18, if I turn up to 20 it clears and stays clear. Had this will all 3 of my BM's

Rain X is more for the outside. I used to use it on the outside of my motorcycle helmet visor. It made the water gather into large droplets and then run off. I'm not convinced that you want that on the inside of your windscreen.

steam on the inside can indicate that there is moisture inside the car somewhere... id check your carpets make sure there is no damp patches, you may have a small leak that is causing this...

Part of the problem is the cabin volume inside the Z4 is very small and your own breathing put quite a bit of moisture into the cabin. I do a couple of things to avoid this problem. I use Rain-X Anti-Fog Treatment on the inside of the windshield/windscreen during the winter. Also until the heater begins to push some warm air I drive with my window down just a little to allow the moist air in the cabin to escape....

...or you can hold your breath...
