I saw a 3-year-old fully loaded E90 330i M Sport Saloon (AUC) on BMW website. The car has been available over 1 month now. It is available from a small dealership (only 1 showroom). I don't want to put any deposit or commit myself to the car before I see it. It is now depend on what I can get from my Z4. According to the valuation from "What Car", my car can be worth £1,700 more if I sell it privately instead of part exchange.

The fully loaded Z4 sDrive35i is far too expensive at the moment (£40k), I have to wait 3 years to get it.

Question now is "Should I sell my Z4 after having it for only 6 months?" What I like about the Z4 are the low driving position, exhaust noise, and roof down. What I like about the E90 330i M Sport are i-Drive, Sat. Nav., Bluetooth, more bhp, and "Start-Stop" button. The E90 is 2006/06.

My Z4 is Titanium Silver, has 1 previous owner, black leather interior, i-pod interface, factory-fitted xenon headlights, mutli-function wheel, 4 new unmarked 108 wheels (BMW replacement), auto-dimming interior mirror, aluminium trim, wind deflector, 4 Bridgestone RFT (6mm depth all round), 11,750 miles to Inspection 2 service, and 47k miles on the clock. What is it worth if I sell it privately? If the E90 is sold tomorrow, then I will of course keep my Z4. It still has 6 months AUC warranty left. But the rising used price of Z4 and fully loaded 330i at affordable price do not always happen at the same time.

Get a price to change from the dealer first, selling privately is easy on paper but harder in reality.

I'd keep the Z4 though, and wait for a nice sDrive30i :)

Once I phone the dealer and ask about the car, I will be over 75% of buying it. However, when it comes to buying cars, my heart always win. My head is now saying I should really keep my Z4 for at least 18 months, but my heart is encouraging me to buy the 330i M Sport because it is well better equipped than my Z4's (and more power too). I don't have to time to see the car until this Saturday. So I will phone the dealer for the valuation of my Z4 this Friday if it is not sold.

If your thinking about it that hard your hearts not in your z4 as much but dont rush it what will be will be and selling private aint easy Im trying to sell my audi tt now i have a z4 loads of interest but interest doesnt sell

surely you will only increase your costs by changing now stick with what you got and the new Z4 will be that much closer.

IMO, Unless you have pressures of needing the extra seats, I'd stick with the Z4. It has the wow factor that I think you may lose some of if you went for a 3 series saloon. Also with prices the way they are, I'd be tempted to hang onto the Z as mine certainly owes me a lot of ££!

i-Drive, Sat.Nav, Bluetooth, no more bhp/tonne, and a button to start the engine?

If that is all the 330i has going for it, I'd leave it! Buttons and gadgets?

330i M Sport would be lovely, but (as you know from your car history) its a very different car to the Z4. I like our E90 touring, but never actually look forward to driving (ok, its a 320d so fair enough), but I do with the Z4.

If its more power and toys - then why don't you find a well specced Z4M?

I'm with Whippy here... Gadgets are nice to have, but you'll soon be bored of driving a salesman's car.

Why are you even so bothered with changing at all, even to a new Z4?

Is there something wrong with the one you have now?

Nothing wrong with my Z4. The car has 6 month AUC warranty, and 4 new 108 wheels replaced under warranty months ago. I probably just miss the i-Drive, PDC from my old E60.

I will try to keep my Z4 for 18 months from now, and see if I can find a fully loaded new Z4. I would like both gadgets and driving experience. The 330i M Sport is quick and has more power, and the gadgets I want, but it really has not got the excitement from driving a Z4 roadster.

I should stop checking BMW AUC everyday. :)

Z4M is nice to have. But fuel consumption is not realistic for daily use (12k miles a year), and the cost of maintenance cost/insurance is too high. The fully loaded new Z4 sDrive30i will be ideal, as it has the power (258hp) and returns 33+mpg. Insurance group is only 17, which is even lower than my E85 (IG18).

Why not change your car to a Z4/Z4C with all the kit?

I couldn't want much more than what mine has (spec in sig). But you could even add sat nav and upgraded stereo to that list.

I did consider the Z4 Coupe. But most fully loaded AUC are above £20k and they are very rare (the exterior/interior colour combination I prefer). The 330i M Sport is only £17k.

I think I have made my mind up. I will wait for a used new Z4.

Hehe, fair do's :D

I quite like the minimalist Z4 interior. I actually prefer the non sat nav ones, and in a way the MFSW controls kinda annoy me too (as handy as they are :) )

I don't think I'd find much time for buttons and gadgets though, the fan controls are enough for me, and the sport button :D

You just need to be weaned off the gadgets ;) :D
