Condensation in boot

I fitted my hard top for the winter a few weeks ago. The hood was bone dry when it was put down. I havent used the car in two weeks and today when I opened the boot, the underside of the lid was soaked in condensation. I put the hard top on to help keep the hood and car dry over the winter, so am a bit perplexed as to why this has happened. Any ideas? Anyone had the same issue?

I’d say if it was fine before fitting the hardtop then it’s probably nothing to do with the rear atmospheric vents or tail lights etc. However still check behind the boot carpet cubby hole areas

Maybe the inner part of the roof was still damp and or the drainage is blocked on either side of the hood

Ive taken the hard top off now to properly have a look. I have found even with the hardtop off there is alot of damp. I relocated the motor recently and that showed no signs of water damage it was like new so it cant be down to the drains. I have just removed the carpet from the nearside wall of the boot and all that area is damp including the sound proofing on the wheel arch and all around the the top of the cubby hole. The other side is bone dry. The only thing I can see that is different between the two is that the wet side has the aerial fitted. Has anyone experienced water getting in through the hole for the aerial. It looks like it is tightly fitted.

Just run the hosepipe over the back end. It could even come through the screw that secures the plastic cowl that sits on top of the tail lamp. Just check everything mate
