Hi all,
I've been lurking here for a while, but this is my first post I believe (because I want something
!)
I've put a deposit down on a 2006 3.0si Roadster, fitted with 108 wheels that have been recently refurbished. I noticed that the tyres had been incorrectly fitted, with a 255/35 on the front :!: . Not a major problem, and it's already been rectified by the dealer, but it got me thinking...
If the wheel refurb guy was so... let's be generous and call it "absent-minded"
... that he fitted a rear tyre to the front (and vice versa), how do I know that tyres have been fitted to the correct wheels? (i.e. 225/40 to the 8J and 255/35 to the 8.5J). It's obvious on my current Z3 3.0i... the rears have a noticeably deeper dish, but as far as I can tell the 108's are physically identical front/rear.
Is there an easy way to identify the difference between the front and rear wheels (assuming no access to a wheel measuring caliper)?
Cheers,
Pete.
